A unique country wedding venue that's all yours

Longmeadow Estate is a Great Ocean Road wedding venue that offers the best of both worlds – a luxurious country estate with a breathtaking ocean beach just minutes away.

At Longmeadow, you don’t need to worry about coordinating multiple venues for your wedding. The property is large enough to accommodate all the big things while still offering you the versatility to add your own unique touches and personalise your day.

Host your ceremony in one of several show-stopping locations around the property, before partying the night away with a reception under the stars. And with the stunning house that sleeps up to 14 people, there’s more than enough room for your bridal party or family members to stay the night.

Getting Ready

The spacious house offers plenty of space to relax before and after your wedding. With seven bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms, there is room for even the largest of bridal parties to stay the night before – even if you know you’re going to be too excited to sleep!

On the morning of your big day, prepare a filling breakfast in the galley kitchen or take a stroll down to the nearby ocean beach. If you’ve forgotten anything, the shops of Portland are only 20 minutes away, so you don’t need to worry about getting caught out in the middle of nowhere.

When it’s time to get ready, the spacious informal living and dining room are flooded with natural light, making it ideal for your hair and make-up artists. With a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, the chic master bedroom is the perfect space to get dressed and take your ‘getting ready’ photos before your guests arrive.

Your Ceremony

For your ceremony, choose from one of several locations around the house and grounds to say your ‘I dos’. The rose-covered archway makes a romantic setting for a whimsical boho wedding, while the lawn outside the formal living area provides peaceful vistas of the neighbouring paddocks.

To complete your dream wedding ceremony, you can bring in your own arbour or use a couple of Longmeadow’s wine barrels for a rustic rural look.

Got your heart set on a beach wedding? Head down to the sand dunes, where an arbour has been erected overlooking the ocean. Dress with the foliage or flowers of your choice for a picture-perfect setting to exchange rings.

If the weather turns (it is the Great Ocean Road, after all), the furniture in the formal living and dining area can be rearranged to accommodate your guests comfortably for an indoor ceremony.

Photography

Once the formalities are over, you and your bridal party can venture off to take advantage of the numerous photo ops around the property for your portraits. The shed and paddocks offer a rustic rural setting, while the sprawling verandahs and archways of the house perfectly capture the romance of your day.

For some classic Great Ocean Road wedding photography, head down to the beach where you can steal a private moment with your new husband or wife before the party gets started.

Accommodation and Transport

Your guests will find lots of great accommodation options in Portland or Port Fairy, 20-40 minutes’ drive from Longmeadow. As small seaside towns the hotels and apartments can fill up quite quickly, so it’s a good idea to give your guests plenty of notice to book.

The property is easily accessible by both car and bus, with ample car parking near the sheds. Many of our couples have organised shared transport through local bus companies, which means your guests won’t have to get in the car after a long day (and night) of celebrating.
